Friends of
Georgetown History - F.O.G.H.

In
the fall of 2004, a group of
interested neighbors, historians, and community members formed an ad
hoc group to create and implement a plan to identify, collect,
preserve, exhibit, and publish unique aspects of the history of
Georgetown. This
group is
known as the Friends of Georgetown History.
The Friends of Georgetown History established an orderly plan by
which to fulfill these goals in a venue that would celebrate
Georgetown's contributions to the legend of Seattle's early
years. This project was funded by a City of Seattle
Department of Neighborhoods Small and Simple Grant.
Historic Photographs: The collection of photographs included in
this research compilation belonging to (and have been specifically
identified) the following collections: Friends of Georgetown
History, Museum of History and Industry, University of Washington, and
the Seattle Public School Archives. Photos identified as the
Friends of Georgetown History have been acquired from private
collections.
Anyone interested in
the rich diverse and often quirky history of King County's first
settlement is encouraged to join us.
Meetings:
2nd Tuesday each month - email
for details. |
